Student Spotlight
This collection of student work, anchor charts, and creative projects spans both my student teaching placement and my first year of teaching. These visuals reflect my commitment to hands-on, student-centered learning across subjects and settings. The anchor charts represent co-created thinking and strategies developed with students, while the student work demonstrates their voice, creativity, and understanding. In my classroom, I strive to celebrate every student by recognizing their unique strengths and lifting them up as both learners and individuals. My goal is to create a space where each child feels seen, valued, and empowered to grow.

One of my students reading to the class for our focus letter of the week.

My student and her mom teaching our class about Nowruz, a cultural holiday that they celebrate (Persian New Year). We made our own Haft Seen table as a class.

My students sorting, graphing, counting, and comparing Lucky Charms marshmallows for a math activity on St. Patrick’s Day.

My students learning to make figures with common shapes, slants, and lines. These wooden pieces were then introduced as a tool to build letters and numbers.

Building our names with connectors.

Identifying and labeling the parts of a flower for Spring. Students were able to incorporate writing by labeling their art “The Flower.”

Identifying and labeling the parts of a butterfly as we observe life cycles with our own class caterpillars. Students were given the choice to write a title or a sentence at the top.

A co-constructed mathematical language chart from my fourth grade student teaching placement to support students in our multiplication unit using area models.

A math share out done in my fourth grade student teaching placement. Students solved the problem with differentiated number sets on their own the day prior and specific strategies were chosen by me. The students share their thinking with the rest of the class as I chart their ideas. The strategies are intentionally shared in order from most simple to most complicated to support students in bridging a connection between the strategies.

Another math share out where students solved the problem the day prior and were intentionally chosen to share their strategies with the class.

My TK students building letters with curves and lines as I give them a letter sound, asking them to identify and build the corresponding letter.

My scientists observing their Lima bean plants they are growing as we learn about the life cycle of Lima beans.

Another wonderful creation from our Earth Day recycling project.

Taking a class tour of a fire truck for Red Ribbon Week

Celebrating my students’ hard work with a popsicle party!

Surprising my students at their Friday night lights baseball game and celebrating their big win!

My brave students learned at a new school while our campus was closed after nearby fires forced a week-long evacuation.

A special moment when my mom and dad visited my class to teach my students how to play dreidel for Hanukkah.

We collected class data on when our caterpillars would move into their chrysalis stage as we observed their life cycle for science. Our class did a notice and wonder math routine as we analyzed our data!
